Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness, usually created by distracting the conscious mind with focusing, distraction and/or relaxation. Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis in assisting beneficial changes via the unconscious mind. There are two distinctly different forms of hypnosis, these being invasive and non-invasive. Invasive hypnosis is very similar to 'stage show' and television; since the recipient 'loses' control, this form of hypnosis is rarely used by therapeutic hypnotists. Most practitioners use non-invasive therapy where the client merely 'lets go' and relaxes, thereby becoming susceptible to suggestion. However the key word is 'susceptible', since the suggestions can be ignored or over-ridden by the client.

Hypnotherapy can help with:
  • Stress
  • Anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • IBS
  • Relationship problems
  • Self-confidence/self-esteem/self-consciousness
  • Sleep disorders
  • Feeling unable to cope
  • Smoking
In fact there are many things hypnosis can assist with, in particular any condition linked to stress.

Stress Management

Hypnosis is the ultimate stress management tool, since hypnosis / relaxation sessions can be recorded and the client be given the tape. By using the tape every day you gain the benefits of hypnosis and deep relaxation (deep relaxation improves the effect of the immune system). By using the recording every day you can have seven sessions per week in the privacy of your own home. Hypnosis can alter the way we perceive both ourselves and the world around us; this allows us to avoid future problems by 'stress proofing' our bodies and minds.
