Reiki is a natural form of healing therapy. It is applied through non-invasive gentle touch. This form of therapy aims to increase energy levels and promote relaxation and wellbeing.
The underlying philosophy of reiki is that if a person’s ‘life force energy’ is low, they are more likely to be unwell or stressed. If it is high, however, they are more capable of being happy and feeling well. Reiki will not cure illnesses or disease but it may help your body to heal itself. Reiki can do no harm.
Reiki can contribute to a person’s wellbeing by making them feel:
- Relaxed
- Peaceful
- More energetic.
In general, a reiki procedure will involve the following: - You will be asked to lie on a couch or sit in a chair.
- The practitioner places their hands on or just above your body in sequences of positions.
- Unlike massage, a reiki treatment does not involve any form of physical manipulation.
- You do not need to remove any clothing and no private parts of your body are touched.
- During a treatment you may feel warmth or cold, a tingling sensation, slight twitching or a rumbling tummy, or you may feel absolutely nothing.
- A complete reiki session can last from 60 to 90 minutes.a

Osteopathy is a well-established approach to health care and focuses on the musculo-skeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue) and the way it interrelates with the body as a whole. A caring approach and attention to the individual are particularly important. Osteopaths diagnose and treat faults which occur because of injury, stress or disease. It is a very safe form of treatment. It uses no drugs. Instead Osteopaths work with their hands using a wide variety of techniques to restore the body to its normal function.
These techniques may include the following to improve the range of movement of the joint:
- Soft tissue stretching
- Rhythmic passive joint movement
- High-velocity thrust techniques
Gentle release techniques are often used, particularly when treating children or elderly patients.
The cranial approach uses very gentle techniques in which the osteopath's highly-trained sense of touch is used to identify and correct disturbances and limitations of tissue mobility throughout the whole body. This approach can be effective for releasing strains in children as a result of trauma during childbirth. Cranial and structural osteopathy can help with conditions such as colic, glue ear, migraine, and dizziness, as well as back trouble and neck pain.

Reflexology deals with the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands, which correspond to all the organs, glands and systems of the body. It is a specific form of manipulation of the client's feet and ankles, by applying gentle pressure using the therapist's hands.
Reflexology is a positive, highly successful method of reducing the physical and emotional stresses, strains and anxieties of today's society. It stimulates the circulation, nerve and glandular systems, it helps to restore the natural balance throughout the body and eliminate toxins. It brings balance and harmony to all body systems and calms or stimulates according to the needs of the body, without harmful side effects. Reflexology promotes overall relaxation.

Bowen is a holistic remedial body technique that works on the soft connective tissue (fascia) of the body. Bowen therapy can be used to treat musculoskeletal or related neurological problems including acute sports injuries and chronic or organic conditions. It is gentle and relaxing and does not use manipulation. This makes it safe for people of all ages.
Bowen therapy helps the body's own healing resources to achieve balance and harmony. This can result in rapid and often long-lasting relief from pain and discomfort, often where other modalities and treatments have not been effective. Benefits may be seen and measured after the first session.
Bowen therapy is performed on the superficial and deep fascia. The fascia, or soft tissue, is the part of the connective tissue that envelops, separates and influences every organ and tissue in the body. It has been called the 'endless web' - recent studies have shown it to be the largest and richest sensory organ in the body, having a profound effect on the body’s physiology and function.
The Bowen technique is safe to use on anyone, from newborns to the elderly and for any musculoskeletal or related neurological complaint. It is a holistic treatment that treats the whole person and aims to treat the cause of problems, rather than the symptoms.

This therapy includes spa treatment with fresh or spring water and provides a spa hotel for comfortable accommodation. International Spa Association (ISA) describes it as the place that which provides complete happiness by variety of services that helps to refresh our mind, body and spirit.
Balneotherapy uses only fresh or spring water and does not sea water as in the case of thalassotherapy. These kinds of spa centers will be located far away from the sea, in the mountains or near the cities. Nowadays most of the people opt for natural medicines, instead of opting for synthetically prepared medicines. Balneotherapy was started based on the interest shown by the people towards natural medicine.
Some special products are offered to know the specialty of balneotherapy which feature: short stays and spa break with some good care allowing you to know about the balneotherapy benefits on a few days, golf packages. Jet shower and undersea shower , effusion shower, bubbling baths , alga wrap and muck wrap , aquatic gym, steam bath are called humid (wet) spa care and are provided in each and every spa.
Special care is provided which helps you in losing your weight. Aesthetic care joins with thalassotherapy treatment for body and face. Balneotherapy is a natural medicine since its soothing effect together with the spa’s staffs gives you a complete relaxation. This quiet atmosphere in spas helps people to restore their health. Balneotherapy has lot of curative properties though it is not as familiar as thalassotherapy. Today balneotherapy offers bubbling baths, jet sprays according to the trend, but its soothing effect remains the same.

This is one of the oldest forms of manipulative treatment, and has been proven in a number of muscular and skeletal problems. Massage is purely manipulative and treats soft tissue, muscle, ligaments, and joints using very deep specific pressure, stretching and isometrics. Massage not only relaxes and refreshes you; it can be used in the prevention of stress and injuries. Either mental or physical stress can tighten muscles which, in turn, will increase stress and so on. This can lead to bad joints, constricted blood supply, nerves becoming pinched, headaches, backache and so the list goes on.
Massage Works in Three Ways:
Physically moving the muscle, tendon, ligaments and joints, placing pressure on specific areas or stretching joints to relieve tension.
As the body is made up of energy channels called meridians which are all connected, you get what is known as 'referred pain', where a part of your body is in pain because of a problem elsewhere. If the nerves are sensitive they can be calmed and if they are not working properly they can be stimulated.
One of the aims of massage is to increase blood flow to the damaged area. Increasing blood and lymphatic flow will also improve the condition of the skin.
The prime concern of the practitioner is to relieve pain, then correct the problem. Remember years of misuse, neglect or injury can not always be helped in one session.

Meditation of one style or another can be found in most of the major religions, including Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam. Generally, Eastern religions have tended to concentrate on meditation as a means of realising spiritual enlightenment. Meditation has evolved out of many different religions and philosophies, which means there are many different techniques to choose from. - Concentrating on the breath – consciously noticing the movement of air in and out of your nostrils, or counting the breath in variety of ways.
- Emptying the mind – allowing the mind to clear and ‘float’, gently pushing aside any stray thoughts, or allowing thoughts to float in and out of awareness.
- Looking at an object – focusing your attention, but not necessarily your thoughts, on the shape, sound and texture of an object, such as a tree or a candle flame.
- Movement – using a physical technique like yoga, Qi Gong or Tai Chi to still the mind by coordinating the breath and the body with gentle movement.
- Using a mantra – repeating a word or phrase over and over, either out loud or silently, to focus the attention, perhaps timed with the breath.
